How current are these rates?
They're indicative only, set at a point in time — not live. Exchange rates move throughout every trading day, so for anything involving real money, check a live source (your bank, a forex service, or a live-rate site) instead.
Why does my bank give me a worse rate than what's shown here?
Banks and money-transfer services typically add a margin on top of the market/mid-market rate (which is what reference rates like this one usually show) — that spread is how they make money on the conversion, so the rate you're actually offered is normally a bit worse than the reference rate.
