Reordering and page rotation

Files merge in the order they appear in the queue, not the order you clicked them in your file picker — drag any file's card to move it before combining. Each file can also be rotated independently before merging, which is useful when one PDF was scanned sideways and the rest weren't. Nothing is uploaded: pages are read and stitched together with pdf-lib directly in your browser.

Common questions

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Yes — you'll be asked for that file's password before it's added to the queue (the password isn't stored anywhere, only used locally to open the file). One tradeoff: that file gets flattened into images during the merge, so its text won't be selectable in the final PDF.

How many PDFs or pages can I merge at once?

Each file is capped at 100 MB; there's no cap on how many files you add. A handful of typical documents merges instantly — dozens of large, image-heavy PDFs can get slow depending on your browser's available memory.

Does merging affect text quality or searchability?

Not for a normal PDF — pages are copied at the object level, so selectable text and embedded fonts carry over unchanged. The one exception is a password-protected file: it gets flattened into images during the merge, so its text is no longer selectable or searchable afterward.

Can I remove a page from the middle of one file before merging?

Not in this tool — merge only combines whole files in your chosen order. Use Remove Pages or Extract Pages first if you need to drop specific pages, then merge the result here.
