How this works

Pick the size you need, drag your photo under the frame and use Zoom and Straighten until your face is centred and level, then press Apply crop. Once the crop is applied you can add a border and see it on the photo. Press Next to choose between a target file size (JPG) and a print sheet, pick JPG, PNG or PDF and download. The frame is sized in real millimetres and the photo is exported at 300 DPI (or the exact pixel size you choose), so it prints at the right size. Your photo is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded.

Common questions

Will this meet the exact requirements of my application?

It gives you the physical size you choose, but it cannot judge your expression, lighting or head position for you. Requirements differ and change, so check the rules of the office or website you are applying to before you submit or print.

Can I change the background of my photo?

Not in this tool. For a clean result take the photo against a plain, evenly lit wall in the colour your application asks for.

Can I get the file to an exact size such as 50 KB?

Yes. Apply the crop, press Next, keep "Target file size" selected (it works for JPG) and enter the size. The tool lowers the quality to get under it, or pads the file up to it, and tells you what it will do before you download. If the target is far below the photo's natural size it may also have to reduce the pixel size, and it shows the final pixel size when it is done.

How do I print several photos on one sheet?

On the second step choose "Print sheet" instead of a target file size, pick a paper size such as 4 × 6 in or A4 and portrait or landscape. The tool fits as many copies as the paper holds. Download it as JPG, PNG or PDF and print at 100% scale (no "fit to page") so the photos keep their real size.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping and the print sheet all run in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
