How this works

Flipping mirrors the image across an axis — horizontal swaps left and right, vertical swaps top and bottom. It's a pixel-for-pixel reflection, not a rotation, so nothing is cropped or resized.

Common questions

What's the difference between flip and rotate 180°?

Rotating 180° turns the image upside-down and back-to-front at once (like spinning it in place); flipping only mirrors one axis — flip vertical alone doesn't also reverse left-right the way a 180° rotation does.
